4. Distraction Burglary: This is where a burglar deliberately distracts the homeowner, often posing as a utility company employee or door-to-door salesperson. Whilst this is going on, an accomplice nips into the property and makes off with various items. Be on guard for this type of situation.

5. Opportunistic Burglary: Often acting on impulse, a burglar sees expensive items in full view. If there’s an easy entry through an open door or window, a theft can happen within seconds.
