Comprehensive Security Upgrade for a Warwickshire Village Home
Location
Warwickshire village
Background
The previous owners of this Warwickshire property had an alarm system installed by a multi-national security system company, but the system was disconnected when the former residents vacated the premises. The current owners carried out extensive on-site renovation work, during which time the incumbent security equipment remained inactive. Following a burglary and vandalism, however, the owners decided to reinstate the system. Despite the security firm saying they would upgrade the system, the work was never satisfactorily completed and during this period, the property was once again targeted by burglars.
Exasperated and having felt thoroughly let down by this national provider, our client turned to Justice Fire & Security to rip out the original equipment and to commission a comprehensive security system that could be activated and controlled remotely, together with proper monitoring.
Challenges
The main challenge was to ensure that this extensive residence and various outbuildings were provided with adequate protection. This necessitated Justice Fire & Security undertaking a detailed site survey. The original installation had not included any CCTV (a major flaw) and much of the site scoping was devoted to how best provide the external areas with the necessary, across-the-board coverage. With the previous security arrangements, the gate entry system could also only be activated from within the house itself and not from any other part of the property. This had become an untenable scenario.
Both inside the main house and externally, a fully automated system was required, which could be easily accessed, alarmed and monitored.
Our Approach
As part of a comprehensive security upgrade to the property, we installed a remotely accessed HIK Vision CCTV system. This included seven cameras and a wireless bridge from a remote building.
The intruder alarm was a wireless HKC system, controlled from a remotely accessed app and encompassing a full police-calling monitoring facility. In addition, our client also ordered a new audio/video access control system to open the gates remotely, allowing access for trade deliveries. In total, the installation took seven working days.
All ongoing system servicing/maintenance is now carried out by us. The system is linked to our gold standard alarm monitoring centre.
The Final Outcome
Our client, Mr Bryan Davis (name changed for privacy and Security) , commented: “I would like to thank you for your help and assistance with the alarms and CCTV, which are now fully installed and up and running. It is very intuitive and easy use. Above all, it provides us with complete peace of mind, unlike the old system.
“I would also like to praise Aaron and Will, your engineers, who were with us for the installation. They are a credit to your firm.
“They were polite, attentive to our property and our dogs – who loved them in the end. They were on time, neat and tidy in their work and always went the extra mile to ensure we knew what was happening and also the installation timescales. They also ensured all cabling was neat tidy and unobtrusively placed.
“I’ve never had such tidy workers here, and they are to be commended for their diligence in everything they did. They were genuinely nice chaps to converse with. I believe credit should be given when you experience exceptional work. Aaron and Will deserve full credit for their work and their attitude to the task in hand. They would be welcome back anytime,” Bryan added.
